Balance Transfer

The Balance Transfer (BT) program serves as a collection tool to increase recoveries. BT offers an attractively priced MasterCard® to debtors agreeing to transfer old debt onto a new credit card – an incentive to attract consumers unlikely to pay their debt by other means.

Our program functions like a collections placement and features sophisticated analytics, industry-leading execution, exceptional customer care, and strict adherence to debt collection and credit card laws and regulations. We take a highly entrepreneurial approach with our clients, offering commission-based or profit-sharing structures.

Benefits to our partners:

  • No-cost lift on debt recovery efforts - No direct costs are incurred by our partners.
  • Ongoing collection efforts - Collections can continue throughout the BT process, optimizing liquidation. Collections may be driven by partners or Genesis.
  • Updated address information - Our proprietary skip tracing engine applies sophisticated modeling to select best addresses. This information optimizes BT response and is shared with our partners at the end of the engagement. Typically over 50% of our applicants are located as a result of addresses found through our proprietary skip engine.

Benefits to the consumer:

  • A flexible, customer-friendly approach to debt collection.
  • Attractive terms - Low minimum payments, 0% APR on transferred debt.
  • Automatic credit limit increases - Our credit limit increase process rewards positive payment history and gives cardholders control over spending power.
  • Live agent activation - Talking to a “real person” at activation increases retention and customer understanding.
  • Immediate credit card issuance to all responders - Provides payment incentive and increases customer buy-in.
  • Automatic unwind for non-payers - For customers that fail to make a payment on their transferred debt within the first 3 billing cycles, the credit card is cancelled and the original debt account is sent back to the debt owner.
